Cognitive dissonance is a case of mental uneasiness,caused by conflicting views held by tahe same person about some issue,or event or persons.Greater the dissonance greater is the pressure the person endures.How he/she will cope with the situation depends on the personality of the concerned person.Extroverts will be less disturbed than the introverts;Type A person will be more pressurized than Type B and females more troubled than the males.In politics,especially in developing and underdeveloped countries,educated,highly qualified and possessing leadership hardly enter active politics,refrain from contesting elections.This results into entering into contest those candidates who are unworthy,disqualified and with stigmatic reputation.Voters have no option.What course they follow is not to vote.That is why voting percentage is hardly over 50%.This is disrespectful for democracy.
